Unwins Basil Mediterranean Medley

Four basils in one packet – Genovese, small leaved lemon basil, dark leaved Opal and purple green Ararat – make this a must for lovers of Mediterranean food. All are warmly aromatic and look so attractive.

Sowing Indoors

• Sow thinly into pots of multi-purpose compost (1.3cm or 1/2 in deep)
• Cover lightly with more compost
• Put the pot in a warm place (10-15C) such as a windowsill and keep moist

Growing On

• Keep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight
• When large enough to handle, transplant to 8cm (3in)pots, allowing 3 or 4 seedlings per pot

Growing Outdoors

• Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2-3 weeks and then plant from June to August
• Allow 30cm (12in) between each groups pf plants
• Choose a sunny, sheltered spot for best results
